Most companies today are "Data Driven companies" where many managers (in marketing and businesses and sales…) must take decisions supported by important data analytics.
This course introduces students to the science of business analytics while casting a keen eye toward the artful use of numbers found in the digital space.
The goal is to create businesses and managers with the capabilities to apply data-analytics to the real-world.
Students will learn to identify analytic tools for specific needs, understanding valid and reliable methods to collect, analyze, and visualize data.
Using data in the decision process is a challenge they will confront daily in their professional lives.
The course covers all those phases of data analysis that in a few years have changed our way of working.
We will start from the explanation of the changing of society with technology (internet, mobile phone and digital platforms).
We will see how data is the element on which the majority of sectors of the market are concentrated.
Data in all possible formats and the tools to analyze them.
We will study how to collect and how to prepare BIG DATA to be useful and profitable for companies.
In my lessons I will invite some managers, from different sectors (from marketing to strategy), to give the students the possibility to deal with real cases, and to talk to people working daily with data.
We will focus on mobility and I will show the evolution of GPS and vehicles such as a "Data Products" (we will talk about autonomous driving).
The course will be a course also on “Innovation”: we will use the new “Design Thinking Process”, which helps students to keep an open mind and to work using innovative methods.
There will also be an important part on Machine Learning and the impact on marketing strategy.
At the end of the course the students, supported by me, will do a simulation on real data and how the data should be used as a marketing improvement tool.
BIG DATA, INNOVATION and ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE are the keywords of this course.
